TL;DR

  • Very raw, no nonsense, perspective into his thoughts and life.
  • Some details about Mallorca or Spain can be boring.
  • Love the interwoven storytelling in the book which wraps his childhood around the core nugget of the 2008 Wimbledon final.
  • You can feel the grit, passion jump at you from the pages.

I was surprised at the openness to his internal thought process he demonstrates in the book. usually you wouldn’t want to give your opponents insignts into your thoguht process in a field like tennis which is possibly more about the mental game although on surface it appears to be driver by brawn.

The feelings jump at you so much so that it has got to be the top book in terms of how much capitalized notes I took. DETERMINATION, GRIND, STRUGGLE were scribbled in big bold letters across the top of the book.’
